Drawn on stone by Mr. T. C. Dibdin, from the sketches carefully made on the spot. James Fergusson travelled to India for business but was so flattered by Indian architecture and archaeology that he pursued the same and became a leading authority on Indian architecture. His extensive travels in western and southern India lead to the publication of this book.
