Popularly known as the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar was born on the 24th of April, 1973 in Mumbai. He holds the record of the highest scorer of all time in International cricket. He made his international Test debut in 1989 against Pakistan when he was just 16 years old. He also made his ODI debut in 1989 against Pakistan. He was the captain of the Indian team from 1996 to 2000. Over the years he has been the recipient of quite a lot of awards including Arjuna Award in 1994, the Padma Shri in 1999 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008. In 2014, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award.
