Crafted in 22k gold, this necklace, executed in early 20th-century Rajasthan, exemplifies the refined opulence of princely Indian jewellery. Crafted in the traditional kundan technique, the necklace is richly set with vibrant emeralds and deep-hued spinels, their irregular yet harmonious forms lending the piece a painterly rhythm. The gemstones are arranged in layered floral and foliate motifs, framed by lustrous Basra pearls. The lower edge is articulated with delicately suspended elements, culminating in a large pendant of commanding presence, further enriched with emerald cabochons and pearl clusters. Fine meenakari work on the reverse, rendered in subtle polychrome, reflects the high level of craftsmanship. Strung with a braided silk and gold-thread cord, finished with a tasseled end, this necklace embodies the ceremonial grandeur and refined taste associated with Rajasthan’s aristocratic ateliers of the period.

This lot is over one hundred years old or National Art Treasure, cannot be exported out of India as per Antiques and Art Treasures Act, 1972 (payment only in Indian Rupees)
