Presented in this auction are works from iconic artists such as Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, Takashi Murakami, Ai Weiwei, Kenny Scharf, George Morton-Clark, Li Tianbing, and Lita Cabellut.
Here are some highlights of the Contemporary Art genre from the upcoming auction.
Lot no. 9: Forever Duo (Stainless Steel Bicycle In Gliding) by Ai Weiwei

Executed in 2006 using stainless steel bicycle frames and rubber tyres by legendary artist Ai Weiwei, this lot comes from his vast oeuvre of Forever bicycle sculptures that symbolise the rise of the Forever brand of bicycles in Shanghai. During this time, the city was flooded by the bicycles but remained unattainable by the masses. His works continue to serve as critiques on the social and political issues of China and the world. They are poetic in their minimalism and translate contemporary concerns in China to the global public.
Lot no. 10: Hipótesis by Juan Genoves

Genove´s developed his signature style post 1975 in which depicts the tensions that can arise in crowds. Depicted from an aerial view, these paintings are devoid of any elements of context or environment and lend an ethereal quality to its miniature figures. These subjects, created through the impasto technique, seem to be frozen in time and are sometimes building up, or surrounded by randomly placed lines or paint splatter lending to the frenzy of the work
Lot no. 14: Love | Red Faces Blue Sides (Ed. 1-8 - 4 AP) by Robert Indiana

The Love Series by Robert Indiana is arguably his most recognisable work. First executed as a painting in 1965 and displayed at a solo exhibition at the Stable Gallery, it was inspired by his Christian Science church upbringing. He used the image for various other mediums, including the momentous sculptures and stamps. The presented lot is executed in polychromed aluminium.
Lot no. 18: Parrot by Andy Warhol

One of the most iconic figures of the Retro era, Andy Warhol continues to be alive through his unique quirky oeuvre that remains extremely recognisable. Majoring in Pictorial Design, Warhol became highly influenced by the works of German Bauhaus artists. He was also inspired by Swiss-German painter Paul Klee and also encountered works by conceptual artists such as Marcel Duchamp.
Lot no. 20: Panda Cubs, Hoyoyo, ZZZZZ by Takashi Murakami

For Murakami, pandas have been a long-standing fascination. He considers his particular depiction of pandas to be spirit residents of the colourful universe he has created. In his creations, the pandas inhabit a different dimension and travel through space and time. Executed in his signature mix of pop-art and Japanese styles, these characters are a representation of Japan’s penchant for ‘kawaii’ or cute objects and characters.
